11‐3: A Novel e‐Privacy LCD Based on the Smart Viewing Angle Controllable Cell with IPS Electrode Structure

In this paper, we proposed a novel e‐Privacy LCD, based on the smart viewing angle controllable (SVC) cell with IPS electrode structure, which can be electrically switched between wide (share mode) and narrow (privacy mode). The path of collimated light emitted from microstructural LGP BLU is not changed when SVC off state, it privacy mode; will scattered pass through that applied voltage, share mode. This phenomenon very consistent simulated results. We also study influence operating voltage or gap performance. With increase cell, performance obviously improved.
